Comix!

The first photo is all of the published comics I’ve written or drawn in my forty years of being (five of which I only did half the artwork for with a friend/collaborator drawing the other half).

The second photo is of the anthologies and other publications where my work has appeared.

I’ve had a blast putting out my comics and working with some amazing collaborators over the years and look forward to the next forty years of publishing!

Thanks to all who have given me a chance to get my work out there and also a big thanks to everyone who supports small press comix!!

Squad Car APA

My pal Joseph Tenney recently asked me to submit something for his new zine Squad Car and I was delighted to do so. Pictured above is the cover to issue two by Tyrone Kinard.

Inside the book is an eclectic mix of art and comics from a bunch of talented folk and also myself. I decided to do a two page comic called “Landing By The Scores!” based on the lyrics to ‘Negro Observer’ by The Butthole Surfers.

So glad to have met Joseph and to be a part of his inspiring Capricorn Comix-verse. You should definitely take a look at his amazing work here (although the site needs some updating because that guy puts out a ton of work and not all of it is represented).

Krazy Kat

Today at We Care Arts our assignment was to paint a “whimsical animal” and the first thing that came to mind was George Herriman’s classic comic strip.

If you’ve never read it I higjly recommend rem-a-ding the sit-you-ay-shun.

Morf

This is a sweet new mini comic written by Billy Mckay and drawn by 25 artists (including myself)!

Billy wrote and colored this glorious tale of a monster born from a volcano who can change shape at will.

Each page is drawn by a different artist who depicts their unique version of the monster as it transforms along with Billy’s imaginative story.

Each artist could only see the previous page before they drew their version so none of us were privy to its dance of transformations until we saw the fully realized book.

It’s truly something to behold! Such an adorable and experimental comic. I’m lucky to have been involved in it.

You can purchase a copy from Billy at billytherobot.etsy.com where he sells many other of his art projects including Space Castle, the super fun one player card game he invented. Check out his stuff, it’s awesome!

Happy Halloween!

This is a recreation I did of a pre-code horror comic cover by the mighty Bill Everett. Have a spooky holiday, everyone!
