Exciting News!!!

In order to focus on writing, I’ve recently hired the incomparable talent of Rob Liefeld to handle the artwork for all forthcoming issues of Veggie Dog Saturn!

Rob has been one of my favorite artists since I first saw his work in New Mutants back in the ’90’s and I couldn’t be happier to have him on board. I’m blown away with the redesigns he’s come up with and the pages he’s turned out so far are amazing!

We’re taking it in a slightly different direction (as you can see by the promo art behind us in the above photo) and we sincerely hope you like it.

Rob and I will both be appearing at the Buyer Beware Comics table at this year’s San Diego Comic Con so if you’re at the show be sure to stop by to say hello and have us sign your copy of Veggie Dog Saturn Blood #0!

Behemoth 2014

A few years ago I did a silkscreen print of this here sea beast (which you can see here). Although it was kind of cool looking, it certainly didn’t turn out like I’d hoped (most of the detail was lost in the printing process due to my not using a screen with a high enough thread count).

Anyway, I’ve decided to put out the version I’d always wanted to see so I did what George Lucas would do and digitally rendered the colors and made this 11″ x 17″ digital print which you can purchase from me. I’ll have them for sale for $6 at the Small Press Alternative Comics Expo (S.P.A.C.E.) on April 12th and 13th. If you’re within a day’s drive of Columbus you should definitely attend as there are all manor of talented artists and writers there. Check out the details for the show here.

I’m doing a series of ‘Lil Portraits of some (kind of) famous people. Who knows… maybe you would like to buy one? They’re tiny. Roughly 3.5″ x 3.5″ on bristol board. I’ll do any person you want (even Sarah Palin or Jeffrey Dahmer) and mail it to you for only $10.

Buzz Osbourne turns 50 today! Go listen to The Melvins.

Gwar was the first concert I ever saw. I was 14. Ended up seeing them 5 more times over the years. Safe to say them and specifically Dave Brockie’s humor had a huge effect on me and mine. Though I didn’t know him personally, Dave was one of my absolute favorite people in the music biz or entertainment world. Always on. Always hilarious and creative in his output. He will be missed.

Witchcraft the Conjuring

So after working at a comic book shop for two decades I decided to make a mini-comic parodying the experience (especially a certain collectible card game that we sold). The result is Witchcraft the Conjuring, a 28 page comic that depicts the true life tragedy that can happen when an insidious card game infects a mild mannered comic book shop.

When I finished it I showed the cover to my pal Eric who said he thought he could add some tweaks here and there. What he did was amazing… I’m so happy with the way the cover turned out (especially if you compare it with my version).

Regular version available for $4 postpaid to the address at the bottom of this page (or by paypal to veggiedogsaturn@gmail.com )

Also available as a Collector’s Edition featuring sharp corners (as opposed to the rounded regular edition) and hand signed and numbered from an extremely limited edition of only 7 copies (featuring a full color Witchcraft the Conjuring trading card drawn on the inside front cover) for only $10 ea!

Here’s a sample interior page for your enjoyment:
