Revolve

DSCF0101

Starting with the current issue of Telephone (issue 7) my comic strip ‘Revolve’ will be printed in their comics section. Although I’ve drawn lots of comic books in the last few years I haven’t tried drawing a comic strip since I was a teenager and I’m really excited to tackle this format again. This one will appear exclusively in Telephone so be sure to give it a look.

In addition to being awesome, Telephone is free and available at most questionable establishments in the Dayton area and beyond (everywhere from Springboro to Tipp City). You can also read the entire magazine online here so even if you don’t live in the area there’s no reason not to check it out. Thanks to Kerry Brown and Juliet Fromholt for getting me involved!

Radio Days

In case you’re unaware there is an awesome radio show called Kaleidoscope hosted by Juliet Fromholt every Wednesday at 8pm. She spins some wax and invites musicians, filmmakers and artists to stop by and talk about their work (and in the case of the musicians play a live set).

I was invited to stop in this Wednesday June 26th to talk comics and you should totally listen! If you’re here in the Dayton area you can tune in to WYSO at 91.3 FM or if you’re in another part of the world you can find it online at wyso.org

Striker!

DSCF0040

Published by We Care Arts, this is an all ages friendly comic written by We Care Arts client Lauren Easley about a golden retriever who joins a bowling league. It’s pretty darn cute.

We Care is an art studio where people with physical, developmental or mental disabilities produce and sell artwork. I’ve been volunteering and working there for over two years and I can honestly say it’s the best thing I’ve ever been associated with. The difference this place makes in so many people’s lives is enormous.

You can purchase a copy of Striker for $3 by visiting the We Care Arts gift shop located at 3035 Wilmington Pike in Kettering, Oh (gift shop hours Mon-Fri 9am – 4pm and Sat 10am – 2pm). All proceeds are split between Lauren Easley and We Care Arts.
