Saturday when I was at my pal Eric’s house for drawing night I was feeling a little uninspired so he suggested I draw the Blue Beetle for him. Well, the Blue Beetle’s in the drawing but it mostly came out as me whining about my work.
For those of you who don’t know me I’ve worked at a comic book shop for 20 years… or at least I did until recently when it became a Magic the Gathering shop that also happens to sell comics. This has resulted in me hating Magic. It takes up so much of our time at work that the comics section is noticeably suffering and Magic only seems to be getting more popular.
Don’t get me wrong as far as card games go I think Magic is a fine game (I used to play it quite often back in the ’90′s) but I just really miss working in a comic book shop that stocks a little bit of Magic.
So anyway I drew this and Eric colored it up nice.
For the record Eric also hates Magic the Gathering… possibly even moreso than I.
