Sailor

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

This is the cover to the comic book “Sailor” written by Brian John Mitchell and drawn by me. It’s a kind of Twilight Zone style mini-comic about an old sailor alone on a boat.

It’s one of three comics Brian wrote that will be placed into bottles and released into rivers, oceans and possibly even a tributary or two for future generations to find and puzzle over. There’s a Kickstarter page for the project and the first person to donate $200 gets the original artwork to Sailor (plus tons of other goodies)! But if you don’t want to dig that deep there are plenty of other pledge amounts you can consider. Check out the Kickstarter page here and a youtube promo video here.

Also, just click on the icon above all this blah blah blahing for a four page preview of the comic.

In the first panel Lauren is supposed to be saying the name of her favorite movie but I can’t remember if it was “Bid Daddy” or “Billy Madison”… it was definitely one of those.

Another collage done on an old album cover (this one was John Cougar Mellencamp’s 1983 album “Uh-Huh”).
