A Miner Problem

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012

This morning I did a drawing based on a photograph of a Russian coal miner from an old issue of National Geographic. When I got home tonight for some reason I decided to digitally augment it (which was immensely fun) and here’s the result. At some point I plan on inking the original drawing and posting that result here as well.

Happy Halloween!

Monday, October 31st, 2011

So other than reviewing a couple of scary movies for Gutter Trash it was starting to look like I wasn’t going to have a very festive Halloween season (I missed “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” last week)… until today!

Today my lovely ladyfriend Kathleen and I watched the first three episodes of last season’s Walking Dead television series, I drank a beer called “Werewolf”, I carved a jack-o-lantern and to top it all off I watched the trailer for the Twilight movie that comes out next month! Talk about scary! It’s Halloween mutha effers!!!

Cliff Steele

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

This is a portrait of Cliff Steele (also known as Robotman) from the Doom Patrol I did for an exhibit that starts today at Christopher’s Restaruant here in Dayton, Ohio. I, along with my buddies and fellow Ok, PANIC! artists Eric and Jeff, will have artwork on display in the parlor there until Halloween. My other portraits include The Thing, Ant-Man, The Spirit and Dazzler. All of our artwork is for sale so stop on by and check out the exhibit (and don’t forget to get a slice of that amazing carrot cake)!

Winehouse

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

I’m told Amy Winehouse is a singer… I’d never heard of her but thought she had an interesting face and decided to draw her while my ladyfriend and I watched X-men 2.

The Thing

Last week I read a bunch of 1970′s Marvel Two in One comics starring one of my absolute all time favorite super heroes (the ever lovin’ blue eyed Thing!) and decided to draw his portrait… so here it is.
