Defenders of the Planets #1 Original Ending

Defenders of the Planets #1 was originally intended to be a meditation on the surreal and metaphysical. Matt Brassfield and I have long been interested in debating philosophical themes, particularly the nature of what is or isn’t “real”.

Many a long night we have spent drinking wine and pontificating upon the likelihood of our being merely a thought in the imagination of a being not yet comprehended by our kind.

It is a distinct possibility that our very lives are not actions of our own instigation, but solely the commands of an unseen force.

But in the interest of public approval and to prevent an uprising of the proletariat, the higher-ups at Sparkle Comics insisted we water down the concepts for easier consumption.

Now the comic is little more than a distraction, a temporary musing on this long bus ride that is life.
So, here for the first time is the uncensored ending to Defenders of the Planets issue one.

It is my sincere hope that the few of you who view this page will be inspired to take control of your own lives for the first time and be complacent no more.
Okay, I think that’s it…

Also, be sure to check out issue two coming this August from Sparkle Comics.
