The Cat

When I was a kid my brother and I had a set of the 1984 Marvel Super Heroes First Issue Covers trading cards.

There were cards of all the classic first issue covers like Fantastic Four, The Amazing Spider-man and The X-men… but there was always one that stuck out to me.

I’d never seen that comic and wouldn’t for almost thirty years! My friend Keith recently gave me a copy of issue one and I couldn’t have been more excited to finally read it.

Luckily, I enjoyed it quite a bit! Linda Fite, Marie Severin and Wally Wood turned out a pretty swell comic and I’m going to try to track down the rest of the series (there’s only three other issues) and read those as well!

Nice! Always liked Patsy Walker for no real reason.

  1. It’s my understanding that when this came out there was a a memo that Stan Lee put out of what the ten most valuable properties at Marvel were & The Cat was in the top ten. I might have one of the issues somewhere. If I recall correctly this isn’t Patsy, but Tigra before she became Tigra….

Yeah, it’s Greer Grant in the costume in this series (or at least in this issue).
